Careful Vacuuming

Apply a Vinegar Solution

Find a spray bottle and mix up a solution of half white vinegar and half water. Spray the remaining mud patches with the mixture. Then, using a white towel, pat the area dry, holding for a few seconds each time. As the towel soaks up the white vinegar solution, it soaks up the dirt at the same time.
Make sure you don’t scrub at the stains, as this only sets the dirt even further into the carpet fibers.
Vacuum a Second Time
Allow the area to dry again, then bring out the vacuum once more. This will not only remove any remaining bits of mud, but it also fluffs your carpet back up.
